Exhaust Wrap – 50mm x 5m White
Part Number: INPEEW2
Non-coated woven exhaust wrap designed to retain exhaust heat and reduce engine bay temperatures. By maintaining higher exhaust gas temperatures, this wrap increases gas velocity for improved scavenging and reduced under-bonnet heat exposure. Constructed from high-quality fibreglass material, it withstands continuous heat up to 550°C (1022°F) and is completely asbestos-free.
Equipment Required
- Scissors or knife for cutting the wrap
- Dust mask
- Safety glasses
- Long sleeves (recommended)
- Stainless steel cable ties for securing
Wrapping Tips
- Allow plenty of time for careful, neat application.
- Keep tension tight to hold position and maximise heat retention.
- Overlap each turn by approximately 20mm (¾").
- Wrap close pipes together if there isn’t space to wrap individually.
Wrapping Steps
- Start at the end of the pipe or flange. Fold back 20mm (¾") of the wrap to reduce fraying, and place fold flush with the pipe end.
- Wrap tightly once to secure the folded edge, then overlap each turn by approx. 20mm.
- After 3–4 turns, secure the starting end with a stainless steel cable tie.
- Continue wrapping the pipe with the same overlap, keeping constant tension.
- At the finish point, fold back the last section 20mm and secure with another cable tie.
- Repeat for all remaining sections until the exhaust is fully wrapped.
Note
The wrap will emit smoke during the first heat cycle – this is non-toxic and part of the normal curing process.
