4A. Image Use & Copyright

Licensed catalogue images/data remain the property of their owners. You must not copy, download or redistribute them without permission.

4B. Catalogue, Pricing & Stock

Specifications/images supplied under Autocat licence. Pricing and availability are provided via our Autopart system and may change at any time. We can correct obvious pricing errors before dispatch.

4C. Number Plate Visualiser & Number Plate Sales

The Number Plate Visualiser is a preview tool only and does not place an order. Number plates are sold in-store only once we have checked your documents and legal eligibility.

  • Documents required: original photo ID (showing your name and address or name and date of birth) and original proof you can use the registration (e.g. V5C, V5C/2, V750, V778, lease/hire agreement or company authorisation). The entitlement must be in the same name as the photo ID/proof of address.
  • Plates are supplied to the current standard BSAU 145e. Legal font, spacing and permitted badge rules apply. We won’t make plates with altered spacing, non-standard fonts or custom logos.
  • The on-screen preview is indicative; final layout may differ slightly where legal formatting requires.
  • Badge/style options are subject to law and availability. We may refuse supply if correct originals are not provided.
  • Returns: number plates are custom-made and are not returnable unless faulty or not as described.

5. Pricing, VAT & Invoices

All prices are in GBP and, unless stated otherwise, include VAT. Delivery charges (if any) are shown at checkout. VAT invoices are available on request.

6. Ordering & Payment

a) Orders are offers to buy. We’ll confirm receipt by email; the contract is formed on dispatch or when we confirm acceptance.
b) We currently accept PayPal. You complete payment under PayPal’s terms; we don’t store full card details.
c) We may cancel/refund where items are unavailable, there’s a pricing/stock error, or payment can’t be verified.

7. Delivery & Click & Collect (Summary)

For full details (areas, timescales, charges, collection rules) see our Delivery, Returns & Warranty page. Local deliveries are made by our own drivers. Risk in goods passes on delivery/collection.

7A. Click & Collect – hold period & ID

  • Free Click & Collect. We’ll notify you when your order is ready.
  • We hold Click & Collect orders for 2 days from the point of purchase. After this period we will cancel and refund to the original payment method.
  • Please bring your order confirmation and photo ID. We may only release to the named customer unless you’ve arranged authorised collection with us in advance.

8. Returns, Cancellations & Refunds (Summary)

Your rights under the Consumer Contracts Regulations and Consumer Rights Act apply. The step-by-step process (how to cancel, what can be returned, time limits, and who pays return postage) is set out on our Delivery, Returns & Warranty page.

8A. Custom & Bespoke Items

Custom-made or personalised goods (for example, number plates produced to your registration) are non-returnable unless faulty or not as described. This does not affect your statutory rights if an item is defective.

9. Fitment, Compatibility & Installation

a) Compatibility tools (including registration lookups) use third-party data (e.g. Autocat) and are guides only. Always check OEM part numbers/specs.
b) Professional installation is recommended. We’re not responsible for damage caused by incorrect installation or use contrary to manufacturer guidelines.
c) We’re not liable for ancillary costs (e.g. labour, garage time) arising from incorrect fitment or a failed/defective part, except where required by law.

10. Warranties (Summary)

Manufacturer warranties (if any) apply in addition to your statutory rights. What’s covered/excluded and how to claim is explained on our Delivery, Returns & Warranty page.

11. Age-Restricted Items

Certain items (e.g. knives) are sold only to customers aged 18+. By purchasing, you confirm you are at least 18. We may ask for photo ID on delivery/collection (Challenge 25) and may refuse supply if age can’t be verified.

12. Promotions, Discounts & Vouchers

a) One promotion per order unless stated. Sale items may be excluded.
b) Weekend Offers: Friday 00:00 to Sunday 16:00 (while stocks last).
c) Promotions have no cash value and can be withdrawn/updated at any time. If a code was misapplied due to error, we may cancel and refund before dispatch.

13. Trade Customers

Trade accounts can be set up in-store or via our trade site (mapc.trade.originsoftware.co.uk). Additional/alternative trade terms may apply. If trade terms conflict with these, the trade terms prevail for trade purchases.

17A. Telephone Support & Call Recording

Calls to our customer phone centre (Peterborough) may be recorded for training, quality and to help resolve queries or disputes. By continuing with the call you acknowledge recording. If you prefer not to be recorded, ask the agent to pause/stop where feasible or use email/live chat instead. Recordings are typically retained for 3 months. See our Privacy Notice for details.

18. Risk & Title

Ownership passes to you once we receive full payment and the goods are delivered or collected. Risk passes on delivery/collection.

19. Liability

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot be limited under law, nor does it affect your statutory rights as a consumer.

Subject to the above, we’re not liable for: loss of profits, business, or data; or indirect/consequential losses. For consumer purchases, we’re responsible for foreseeable loss/damage caused by our breach or failure to use reasonable care and skill.

20. Data, Privacy & CCTV

Your personal data is handled as set out in our Privacy Notice. We operate CCTV at our premises for safety and crime prevention (typical retention up to 30 days unless needed longer for an incident).

21. Force Majeure

We’re not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control (e.g., extreme weather, strikes, utility failures, regulatory action).

22. Complaints & Dispute Resolution

If you have a complaint, please contact us using the details in Section 2. We’ll try to resolve issues promptly and fairly.

23. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction.
