On Thursday 25th September at Peterborough City College — John Mansfield Campus, the Millfield Auto Parts team showcased what we do every day: fast, accurate parts supply backed by technical data and real-world problem solving. With live product demonstrations and guidance from leading brands such as Liqui Moly, NGK, MAHLE and Schaeffler, students explored how the aftermarket works in practice and the routes into apprenticeships, counter roles and workshop careers.
We spent the day at Peterborough City College (John Mansfield Campus) meeting students and tutors, giving a hands-on look at what we do across parts supply, technical advice and workshop support. From product demos to career chats, it was all about helping the next generation see how the aftermarket works.
What we showcased
- Real-world parts identification: how we match OEM numbers, vehicle lookups and catalogue data for right-first-time supply.
- Technical support for garages: wiring info, torque specs and fitting guidance we share with customers every day.
- Consumables & chemicals: why the right oils, additives and car-care products matter for modern engines.
- Training & pathways: how students can move from college projects to workshops and parts counters.
Hands-on demos
Students looked at products, asked questions and explored college project vehicles fitted with display plates. Our team talked through typical workshop scenarios—misfires, emissions faults, service parts—and how factors like oil specs, filtration and ignition components affect the fix.
Brands & partners on show
Alongside our team, students saw products and information from leading aftermarket brands including Liqui Moly, NGK, MAHLE and Schaeffler—with practical guidance on when and why to use them.
